Behind The Scent: Blanc Polychrome
Our new fragrance is called Blanc Polychrome and is inspired by the imagery associated with white as well as the art and enhancement of polychrome color.
White is the lightest color on the spectrum and the perceived color of light. Achromatic, it has no hue and is obtained by mixing light of all colors, and also represents all the colors of the rainbow combined. White objects reflect and scatter all visible wavelengths of light equally. The inspiration for this new fragrance comes from the positivity of white, associated with purity, light, radiance, illumination, spirituality, beginnings, and simplicity.
"Polychrome" refers to styles of painting, sculpture, architecture, and pottery that use multiple colors. Polychromy is a technique used since ancient times to enhance the beauty of works of art or monuments.
Our perfumer Marie Salamagne creates fragrances in the same way she envisions watercolor paintings, with a montage of shapes and colors. The inspiration for this new fragrance is also drawn from the explosions of color in art, painting, and nature, which offer us jewels of multicolored kaleidoscopic colors.
Blanc Polychrome is a modern, cologne-style fragrance at 20% concentration, infused with kaleidoscopic bursts of color. Think hypnotic swirls of light beaming through ornate stained-glass windows, or a transparent prism highlighting a rainbow of color.
Blanc Polychrome celebrates life and color. Imagine fields of flowers gently swaying in polychrome tones. Or a vision of fresh petals leaving their mark on a white canvas, heralding the rite of spring. A halo of brilliant achromatic light gives it a juicy quality with mandarin and lemon in the top notes. A dose of lavender with a surprising blend of creamy jasmine, juxtaposed with fig leaves, lends modernity. The scent is enhanced with a touch of moss and intensified with musk and ambroxan, bringing warmth and light.
